Dinner Countdown
Get every dish on the table at once: a backward-planned cooking schedule with live countdowns, beeps and checkboxes.
Use it in ChatGPT
Find Dinner Countdown in the ChatGPT plugin directory, add it, then try:
- Dinner is at 7pm: steak, baked potatoes and a salad. When do I start each thing?
- Plan my Thanksgiving cooking so everything is ready at 4pm
- Set a 12 minute timer for the pasta and 25 for the roast
About
Dinner Countdown is cook mode for real meals with more than one pot on the stove.
Tell ChatGPT what you are making and when you want to eat. Dinner Countdown works backward from the serve time and tells you exactly when to start each step, so the roast, the potatoes and the gravy all finish together. It warns you about crunch moments when several hands-on steps land at once, and about oven clashes when two dishes need different temperatures at the same time.
The live card shows a timeline of every dish, a countdown to serving, the next thing to do, and a running timer for each step with a beep when it starts and when it ends. Tick steps off as you go, nudge the whole plan by five minutes if you are running late, or hit Start now to begin immediately.
Just need timers? Ask for them ("12 minutes for the pasta and 25 for the roast") and get several labelled countdowns side by side with pause, +1 minute and reset.
Works for weeknight dinners, Sunday roasts, Thanksgiving and holiday feasts. No account needed, and nothing is stored on a server.
